Job Summary:
The Progressive Care Unit (PCU) registered nurse (RN) position is based in Macon, Georgia. This role involves delivering high-quality patient care, supervising nursing staff, and participating in interdisciplinary teams to promote patient safety and recovery. The RN will be responsible for assessments, care planning, patient education, discharge planning, and ensuring compliance with safety and hospital policies.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 48 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid BLS (Basic Life Support) certification prior to first shift; ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required prior to first shift for CIRH only; a minimum of two (2) years bedside clinical experience preferred; education credentials as determined by the organization; current nursing license applicable to the state of Georgia; no minimum years of experience required for the position.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in Progressive Care or similar units; certification in specialty areas such as Certification in Medical-Surgical Nursing (CMSRN) or similar; experience working in a hospital or acute care setting.
- Additional Information: The RN will perform nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission, develop individualized care plans, and participate in patient education and discharge planning. Responsibilities include documentation, supervision of ancillary nursing staff, and active participation in team activities to foster a positive work environment. The role requires effective communication skills, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to prioritize patient needs efficiently. The RN may assume charge responsibilities following orientation and is expected to pursue ongoing professional development.
