Job Summary:
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) position available in Rochelle Park, New Jersey. The RN is responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, supervising clinical staff, and ensuring adherence to safety and procedural standards in a dynamic healthcare environment. This role involves providing comprehensive nursing assessments, patient education, and supporting medical teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required prior to first shift. ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required prior to first shift (CIRH only). A minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is required. One (1) year of ICU experience is highly desired.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in progressive care or similar units is advantageous.
- Additional Information: Performs nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission, develops individualized care plans, and initiates discharge planning from the day of admission. Provides patient education and ensures timely documentation of assessments, interventions, and responses. Supports continuity of care by effectively communicating patient status changes to the team. Delegates tasks appropriately, supervises ancillary staff, and actively participates in team building activities to foster a positive work environment. Assumes charge nurse responsibilities after orientation and pursues ongoing professional development. Prioritizes activities to meet patient needs efficiently, maintains safety standards, and promotes quality outcomes.
