Job Summary
Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at a healthcare organization in Greenville, North Carolina. This role involves providing advanced nursing care for neuro, stroke, post-surgical, seizure, and neurological patients. The position offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, utilizing specialized skills to monitor and manage complex patient conditions.
Job Details
- Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: NC or Compact nursing license, at least 2 years of telemetry or progressive care unit experience, BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certification, EPIC and travel experience, ability to read and interpret strips, neuro experience, and local radius requirement of 80 miles
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with neuro and stroke management, proficiency with lumbar puncture assistance, arterial lines, central lines, tracheotomy patients, lumbar drains, IV starts, peripheral lab draws, arterial blood draws, and various intravenous drips including cardiac, insulin, and heparin, as well as cardiac monitoring
- Additional Information: The patient population includes acute stroke management, neuro-surgical post-operative care, seizure management, multiple sclerosis, Guillain-Barre syndrome, encephalopathy, and complex neuro-spine surgeries. Skills utilized include NIHSS, lumbar puncture assistance, arterial and peripheral line management, and intravenous therapy. Candidates must be available for 3 out of 4 holidays, 6 weekends within a 6-week schedule, with no blocked scheduling and all RTO requests must be submitted prior to assignment confirmation. The ratio ranges from 1:4 to 1:6 depending on patient acuity.
