Job Summary
The Pediatric Critical Care Unit (PCU) Nurse is responsible for providing specialized nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients in a high-acuity setting. Located in Arlington, Texas, this role involves supporting patients with complex cardiac and vascular conditions, utilizing advanced clinical skills to ensure optimal outcomes. The position offers an opportunity to work in a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to high-quality, compassionate care.

Job Details

  • Location: Arlington, TX
  • Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts
  • Schedule: Minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license; 1 year of pediatric or critical care nursing experience; current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification; preferably ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support); excellent assessment and patient management skills
  • Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience with post-cath management and critical care procedures such as EKG recognition, pacemaker interrogation, arterial sheath removal, and cardiac drip maintenance; familiarity with EMR systems; strong clinical judgment in complex pediatric cases
  • Additional Information: The role involves performing nursing assessments every twelve hours and vital signs every four hours, with documentation requirements aligned to physician orders. The unit focuses on cardiac and vascular patient care, with a team experienced in utilizing new equipment and technology.
