  • Weekly Hours: 36 hours per week
  • Weekend Requirements: 1 weekend per month
  • On-Call Requirements: 2nd call, 1 weekend per month, 7:00p - 7:00a
  • Setting: Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)

  • EMR: Epic required

Job Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in Pre-Op, Post-Op, and PACU nursing
  • Active RN license in Virginia or a compact state
  • Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications
  • NIHSS certification
  • Strong working knowledge of Epic EMR
  • Experience caring for patients ranging from 6 months through geriatrics
  • Ability to support a fast-paced perioperative environment and assist with float needs as assigned

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality nursing care for patients recovering from anesthesia
  • Monitor vital signs, pain levels, and recovery progress in the PACU
  • Support Pre-Op and Post-Op workflows as needed
  • Collaborate with the surgical team and anesthesia providers to ensure safe patient transitions
  • Document accurately in Epic and maintain timely patient records
  • Respond to changes in patient condition and escalate concerns appropriately
  • Assist with patient flow, turnover, and occasional float support to sister units as needed
  • Deliver compassionate care while maintaining a safe and efficient recovery environment
