Operating Room Nurse in San Luis Obispo, California. This position involves assisting surgeons and anesthesiologists, coordinating the flow of equipment, supplies, and staff during surgical procedures, and ensuring patient safety throughout the perioperative phase. The role includes participation in patient care planning, assessment, and nursing treatment, with a focus on maintaining aseptic technique and handling all equipment and materials safely.

Job Details

  • Schedule: Rotating shift, 8 hours per shift, minimum of 40 hours per week, with call at least 1 night per week and 1 weekend per schedule. Shift start times rotate.
  • Required Qualifications: Associate Degree (A.S.) or equivalent, Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Preferred), current RN license in California (Required), minimum of 2 years full-time operating room experience (Required), Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Required), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (Preferred), ACLS certification (Required).
  • Preferred Qualifications: Certified Nurse, Operating Room (CNOR), additional experience in orthopedic, neurological, or trauma settings.
  • Essential Functions: Competent in circulating during surgical procedures, applying aseptic technique, operating all routine OR equipment, preparing patients for surgery including anatomical positioning, performing patient care assessments, handling biohazardous materials safely, accessing facility information systems, and managing emergency and safety procedures as outlined in the environment of care plan.
  • Additional Information: The position is represented by CNA. The facility requires all associates to receive mandated vaccinations unless exempted. The assignment begins on 08/03/2026 at the specified location.
