Job Summary:
The Operating Room (OR) Nurse position is located in Charleston, West Virginia. This role involves supporting ambulatory surgery procedures within a busy surgical environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for scrubbing and circulating during ophthalmology surgeries, including cataracts and corneal procedures, and will collaborate with staff to ensure smooth operations during day shifts.

Job Details:

• Shift: Day shift, Monday through Friday, with scheduled 8-hour shifts. Ability to stay late if cases extend beyond scheduled hours.
• Required Qualifications: Valid BLS (AHA) certification; minimum of 2 years of experience as Operating Room Technician; experience in ophthalmology, including performing cataract and cornea procedures independently; ability to scrub and circulate ambulatory surgery procedures.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in ophthalmology surgeries with independent procedural skills in cataracts and cornea.
• Float: Float rotation may be required to other surgical departments.
• Additional Information:
  • Can only submit to one position at a time across the healthcare provider system.
  • Drivers license address must be outside 50 miles from the facility.
  • Previous full-time or traveling staff must meet minimum time away requirements before reapplying.
  • Must be able to respond to call shifts within 30 minutes, including weekday, weekend, and holiday rotations.
  • Hospital orientation followed by specific staff orientation in the unit.
  • Cancelation policy allows 2 shifts per 13-week assignment or 1 shift for shorter assignments.
  • Charting is done in the EPIC system.
