Job Overview:
The Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) provides specialized nursing care to patients before, during, and after surgical procedures. The OR RN collaborates closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, surgical technologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality surgical care.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care throughout the perioperative process.
  • Prepare operating rooms, equipment, instruments, and supplies for surgical procedures.
  • Verify patient identity, surgical site, consent forms, and procedure details.
  • Serve as a circulating nurse during surgical procedures.
  • Maintain a sterile and safe surgical environment.
  • Monitor patients throughout surgery and respond to changes in condition.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure efficient workflow and patient safety.
  • Administer medications and treatments as ordered.
  • Document patient care, surgical activities, and outcomes accurately and timely.
  • Assist with patient positioning and preparation for surgery.

Required Qualifications:

  • 2 years of recent RN Operating experience
  • STRONG Ortho Experience Required
  • GA or compact State RN License
  • BLS Certification (AHA)
