Job Summary:
The operating room (OR) nursing position is located in a Level 3 Trauma center of excellence and Stroke center of excellence within a licensed facility that offers diverse surgical specialties. This role involves providing perioperative care in a fast-paced environment with a focus on trauma, orthopedic trauma, total joints, spine, cardiovascular, gynecology-oncology, robotics, general surgery, bariatrics, urology, ENT, plastics, and other surgical procedures. The position requires a dedicated OR nurse with experience in circulating and scrubbing, capable of supporting a variety of complex cases.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, with rotating weekends every 4th weekend, typically scheduled from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. or 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., with an average of six call shifts per 6-week cycle, including a response time of 45 minutes.
- Required Qualifications: BLS certification; a minimum of 5 years of operating room nursing experience; active nursing license; experience in trauma, orthopedic trauma, total joints, spine, cardiovascular, gynecology-oncology, robotics, general surgery, bariatrics, urology, ENT, plastics, or related fields.
- Preferred Qualifications: CNOR certification is preferred but not required.
- Additional Information: Orientation includes a 2-day departmental onboarding. No floating requirement. Support within the department includes service line clinical supervisors, charge nurses, educators, OR assistants, unit secretaries, and technical staff. Scrub color is provided, and free parking is available on-site. The OR culture emphasizes teamwork and high standards of surgical care.
