Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate perioperative care for pre-op, intra-op and PACU patients
- Serve as the OR circulating nurse to maintain patient safety and smooth surgical flow
- Provide on-call PACU coverage, managing post-anesthesia recovery for pediatric and adult patients
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and the surgical team to coordinate care and handoffs
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with surgical policies and protocols
- Anticipate needs during procedures and ensure availability of necessary supplies and equipment
- Promote a positive patient experience through compassionate, family-centered care
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Montana or a Compact State
- Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience required
- Current ACLS, PALS and BLS certifications required
- Experience in perioperative nursing, OR circulating and PACU care
- Comfortable providing pediatric (PEDS) perioperative and PACU care
- Ability to work scheduled day shifts and participate in rotating on-call coverage
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong perioperative nursing knowledge including sterile technique and surgical safety
- Proficiency in pre-op assessment and post-anesthesia recovery care
- Familiarity with pediatric perioperative and PACU needs
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to prioritize, think critically and respond calmly in high-acuity situations
- Competence with clinical documentation and basic EMR navigation
