Key Responsibilities
- Perform direct patient care activities for all age groups, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
- Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care and maintain professional accountability for provision of care.
- Monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient care and comfort.
- Evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers and coordinate care in conjunction with other departments.
- Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information at all times.
- Function within the scope of nursing preparation and consistent with established guidelines of nursing practice and the Missouri Nurse Practice Act.
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license; must meet criteria for eligibility for licensure in the state of Missouri or currently licensed in Missouri.
- Minimum 2 years of Level 1 or Level 2 Trauma experience (teaching hospital experience will be considered).
- Experience as both a Scrub and OR Circulator.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) only.
- Flu vaccination or approved exemption required from November 1 through April 1; declinations are not accepted.
- Must be available for day shift orientation during the first week of assignment.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Level 1 Trauma experience with multiple years of OR practice.
- Experience with robotic-assisted surgery, including DaVinci systems.
- Proficiency with EPIC EMR.
- Highly motivated, self-starting personality with strong human relations and communication skills.
