    Travel RN – Operating Room (OR)

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | 13 Weeks | Full-Time | Onsite | Days | Monday–Friday 6:30 AM–3:00 PM with on-call requirements (7 days per month including one weekend per month; call hours 3:00 PM–6:30 AM)

    Key Responsibilities
    • Demonstrate critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership in anticipating and planning for patient care in the operating room
    • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, OR technicians, and other surgical team members to deliver safe, high-quality patient care in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act, AORN standards, and facility policies
    • Perform circulator duties including ensuring appropriate supplies are available, maintaining timeliness of surgical cases, and communicating with patient families
    • Scrub and assist physicians during surgical cases across specialties including Endoscopy, Orthopedic, and General Surgery
    • Update and maintain physician preference cards and departmental documentation
    • Supervise personnel involved in the delivery of patient care within the surgical department
    Required Qualifications
    • Current Alabama RN license or valid multi-state RN license
    • Minimum 4 years of recent OR RN experience in a hospital setting
    • Active ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications (must be through the American Heart Association)
    • Experience as an OR Circulator with Endoscopy experience
    • Proficiency in Endoscopy, Orthopedic, and General Surgery specialties
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience in ENT and/or GYN surgical specialties
    • Prior travel nursing experience in a hospital or community hospital setting
