Travel RN – Surgery (Operating Room)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Travel | 13-Week Assignment | Days | 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM | 36 Hours/Week Guaranteed | Every Third Weekend Required

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct perioperative nursing care to adult and geriatric surgical patients in an acute care setting
  • Perform and manage NG tube placement, Foley catheter placement and management, and chest tube maintenance
  • Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions using Cerner EHR throughout the surgical continuum
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary surgical teams to deliver safe, high-quality patient care
  • Manage common diagnoses and treatments including small bowel obstructions, diabetic complications, wound care, acute kidney injury, pneumonia, and sepsis
  • Float to other units as appropriate based on experience and patient care needs
Required Qualifications
  • Active RN license with a minimum of 2 years of surgical or relevant acute care nursing experience
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing school; Associate's degree or higher required
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Demonstrated proficiency in NG tube placement and management, Foley placement and management, and chest tube maintenance
  • Strong communication skills and ability to adapt to a fast-paced, changing environment
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Experience with Cerner EMR
  • NIHSS certification
  • Outgoing personality with excellent interpersonal and team communication skills
