Key Responsibilities- Assess patient needs through history, observation, physical examination, and analysis of diagnostic data; provide nursing interventions consistent with the Plan of Care and physician-prescribed medical plans.
- Prepare the operating room for patient procedures, position and prepare patients on the operating table, and perform all circulating duties with efficiency and speed.
- Complete verification of the Safe Surgery checklist in accordance with service excellence standards.
- Delegate, supervise, and evaluate the activities of other team members while executing directives and interventions in urgent or emergent situations.
- Serve as the communication liaison between family members and the operating team; maintain a professional image consistent with service excellence standards.
- Record all care information accurately and completely in a timely manner; assist in the control and maintenance of supplies and equipment.
Required Qualifications- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of South Carolina or compact eligibility.
- Experience in cardiovascular or cardiac operating room nursing.
- Proficiency in circulating duties within the operating room setting.
- Ability to utilize appropriate health and safety equipment within and outside of the sterile field.
- Willingness to participate in assigned call as scheduled.
Preferred Experience / Skills- Familiarity with computer programs utilized in the delivery of patient care within a surgical environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to continued professional growth through goal-setting and participation in educational offerings.
