Registered Nurse – Operating Room

Fargo, ND

Contract | Onsite | Mid Shift | 8–10 hour days with rotating call; rotating PM shift coverage; call required 1–2 days per week and every 3–4 weekends

• Serve as a circulating nurse, providing documentation and direct patient care throughout the operative setting
• Perform sterile prepping of surgical sites, patient positioning, and catheter insertion in preparation for surgical procedures
• Open and manage sterile supplies and set up operating room equipment as directed
• Document patient care activities within an EPIC-based electronic health record system
• Operate and support specialized equipment including laparoscopic, arthroscopic, cautery, laser, and Stealth navigation systems for neuro cases
• Float to alternate campus locations on a rare, as-needed basis

• Active RN licensure in North Dakota or a valid Compact state license
• Current BLS certification
• Minimum of 2 years of recent OR RN experience in an acute care facility
• Experience in a large hospital setting with 250 or more beds and Level 1 Trauma designation
• Experience working in a facility with 15 or more OR suites (outpatient center experience does not meet this requirement)
• Strong proficiency in Neuro procedures (craniotomies, spine) and Orthopedic cases, with willingness to work General surgery cases

• Experience with robotic-assisted surgery, specifically the DaVinci system
• Experience with GYN, Urology, and laparoscopic surgical cases
• Familiarity with Stealth navigation systems for neurological procedures
• Experience with Accudose medication management systems

• Work in a high-volume, advanced surgical environment with 25 OR suites and approximately 75–100 cases per day, offering broad clinical exposure across multiple specialties
• Benefit from a 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio in the OR, supporting focused, high-quality patient care
