Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Mid 4x10-Hour Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Minimum 3 years’ experience required. License: Must have an active Illinois license in hand or be in the application process. Certifications: BLS required. CNOR preferred. Must-Have: General operating room and trauma experience required. Cerner experience preferred. Experience with Level I trauma required. Experience with laparoscopic assisted cases required. Experience with a variety of surgical cases, including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, and colon resection, required. Experience in neurology, orthopedic, plastic surgery, transplant, and urology cases required. Required skills in emergency management, equipment handling, and universal protocol procedures. Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse in the operating room. The nurse will work four 10-hour shifts from 13:00 to 22:00. The facility has 23 operating rooms. The role requires proficiency in general surgery and trauma care. Candidates will not be first-timers. Weekend work of one shift per month is required. On-call duty is required approximately once a week. The nurse may float within their skill set, although this is rare. All requested time off must be reviewed and approved. Candidates should possess skills in various surgical procedures, including laparoscopic and general surgeries. Special emphasis is placed on emergency preparedness and safety protocols. The ideal candidate must have strong teamwork and communication skills, as they will work with multidisciplinary teams. Candidates must be committed to high standards of patient care and safety.
