Job Title: Surgical Assistant Profession: Nursing Specialty: RN Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Registered Nurse Certifications: Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) from an accredited body Must-Have: BLS Description: This position involves working in a surgical room setting. The role requires experience with neuro and orthopedic cases. Common procedures include spine surgeries, cranial surgeries, and various orthopedic surgeries. Familiarity with surgical navigation systems is preferred. Additional specialties may include plastic, vascular, general oncology, and gynecology. Travelers may be required to cross-train to the general main operating room regardless of the hired specialty. No floating to other hospitals or sites will occur. Support within the department includes charge nurses and supervisory staff. Responsibility for managing equipment and technology will be part of the role. Flexible scheduling may include on-call shifts and holiday expectations. Surgical scrubs will be provided, and scrub caps are permitted. Food options include a café on campus. Free parking and shuttle services are available.
