Job Title: Operating Room Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 8 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 hours (06:30 - 15:00) Experience: Minimum of 2 years in Operating Room License: Compact or state-specific nursing license required Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: CV experience Description: Please ensure the traveler is aware of the following: Upon accepting an assignment and starting the role, the unit manager may assign the traveler to an "Emergency Team." There will be an expectation to remain at the facility until after the event passes or be part of the relief team. Specific details pertaining to pay will be relayed for each emergency event, as impacts vary. By signing the travel contract, the traveler accepts the above and is expected to report as assigned by the immediate unit manager in the event of an emergency. Travelers should not apply for this role if they are not comfortable with the above. MUST HAVE CV EXPERIENCE. The unit typically handles 10-25 cases per day across 7 rooms. Call will be required on weekdays, weekends, and holidays, with 2 weekends every 6-week schedule. The unit will accept first-time travelers as long as they have sufficient Operating Room experience. Scrubs will be provided in green. Required competencies include a variety of surgical procedures, including but not limited to abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, hysterectomy, appendectomy, and several orthopedic surgeries. All travelers must adhere to infection control protocols and ensure proper specimen handling and labeling. This role supports diverse patient age groups, including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Interdisciplinary support is available from respiratory services, social services, and rapid response teams. The unit complies with all current health safety regulations. Travelers must be separated from previous employment at the organization for one full year before returning as travelers. References are not required for submission but will be needed for clearance to start the contract. NURSYS Reports must be up-to-date within four weeks of submission.
