Job Title: Operating Room Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: OR Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 8H Days Hours per Shift: 8 hours plus call Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Not required Certifications: BLS Must-Have: General, Ortho, Uro, Robotics, GYN experience Description: Pre-screens are required for all candidates. Approval to offer will be determined by the hiring manager. Candidates must comply with the 50-mile radius rule. No local rates will be offered. Unit consists of 4 operating rooms and a recovery area with 5 beds, shared with an emergency department. Certifications required include BLS. Common cases include bariatric, pediatric, and endoscopic procedures. Some ICU-level background is helpful. The electronic medical record system utilized is Cerner and Surginet. There are charge nurses for both operating rooms and the recovery area. Support staff includes certified surgical technologists and sterile processing technicians. Weekend call is required every 6-7 weeks. Scrub colors will be provided by the facility. Telecommunications equipment is Phillips. Respiratory therapy is available 24/7. Pharmacy services are available 6 a.m. to 5 p.m., with night coverage through the main facility. One call day per week is expected. Floating to other operating rooms may be required. Floor-specific orientation will occur over two days. Common diagnoses include bariatric cases, pediatrics, and endoscopic procedures. An additional note includes an 18-minute turnaround for endoscopic procedures. The facility may cancel up to four shifts for a 13-week assignment, or three shifts for assignments shorter than 13 weeks. The charting system in use is Cerner.
