Job Title: Operating Room Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Monday - Friday Hours per Shift: 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Current Registered Nurse license Certifications: None specified Must-Have: BSN preferred Description: Graduate of a Registered Nurse Program. Responsible for the delivery of safe, effective, and quality patient-family centered care in the operating room and other areas of perioperative services for all patient populations. Acts as a patient advocate. Meets surgical standards of nursing practice. Maintains skills in setting priorities and organizing workload effectively. Adapts to changes in assignment and integrates multiple assignments with multilevel personnel. Requires strong communication skills. Must be attentive to detail. Possesses a thorough knowledge of sterile technique. Demonstrates a commitment to the team concept and task completion. Develops and implements total nursing care for patients through assessment, nursing diagnosis, and patient care plans. Provides leadership by working cooperatively with nursing and other patient team personnel. Maintains standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting. Participates in and implements age-specific care and interactions. Attends departmental orientation and implements age-specific training. Collaborates with the healthcare team in the assessment of the patient/family. Performs a head-to-toe assessment on all patients and reassessments as per policy. Adequately assesses and reassesses pain and utilizes appropriate pain management techniques.
