Using the nursing process, the RN assesses patients and identifies nursing diagnoses based on their responses to health problems. The RN develops and implements an individualized plan of care and evaluates the patient's response. Promotes safe passage for patients by using knowledge of their needs to assist them through the healthcare encounter. Delegates interventions to healthcare personnel based on each patient's condition and the competencies of the employee. The RN role covers hospital inpatient and outpatient departments that require 24/7 staffing. Examples include GI Lab, Pain Management, Dialysis, Infusion Centers, and IV Services.
