Job Title: OR Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 8.5 Experience: Minimum of 1 Year License: Current Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS Certification Must-Have: Prior OR experience with a minimum of 1 year. Experience with general surgery, including laparoscopic, orthopedic, spine. Willingness to learn GI if not already experienced. Availability for call within the staff rotation. Description: The surgical department offers 4 beds and has 6 staff members. Staff includes 2 RNs and 2.5 CST during the day shift. Patient ratios are 1:1. The equipment includes a basic OR setup with capabilities for general, orthopedic, neuro-spine, and GI procedures. The electronic medical record system used is Meditech. Typical procedures performed in the unit include: General surgery, including laparoscopic procedures. Orthopedic procedures. Neuro-spine procedures. GI procedures, including ERCP, EGD, and colonoscopy. Ideal candidates will be friendly, hardworking, team players, and flexible. A willingness to help others is essential. Bilingual candidates are preferred. The surgical department is expanding, adding new services and physicians. New equipment and instruments are being purchased to enhance care. A DaVinci DV1 system is anticipated before year-end. Current staff tenure is strong, with most team members having over 4 years of experience. The department is actively growing and expanding services, necessitating additional staffing.
