Ability to optimize the use of technology to support clinical care. Description: The RN Clinical Periop Nurse is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team of licensed and unlicensed caregivers. They ensure that patients and families receive individualized, high-quality, safe patient care. The position practices in a clinical environment supported by Nurse Managers and other leaders. The framework for practice is steered by a professional practice model and evidence-based practice and research. It is expected that the RN Clinical Nurse is licensed, knowledgeable, and upholds nursing practice standards. As a member of the team, the RN Clinical Nurse will uphold the voice of the patient and support service excellence goals. Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions: The RN performs the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, identification of outcomes, planning, implementation, and evaluation of clinical care. They use analytical and critical thinking to ensure individualized care while coordinating effectively with a focus on patient goals. The RN provides relationship-based patient-centered care consistent with population-specific characteristics. They engage with patients and significant others using appropriate methods for communication and care delivery. The RN coordinates safe, quality patient care through diverse interdisciplinary communication. They demonstrate teamwork and fiscal responsibility, supporting the recruitment and retention of healthcare team members. The RN participates in performance improvement and supports an environment of shared governance. Professional Development and Initiative: The RN completes ongoing professional competency assessments and mandatory education. They serve as a preceptor or mentor, ensuring a qualified workforce and a healthy work environment. Evidence-Based Practice and Research: The RN promotes evidence-based practice and nursing research. They participate in data collection and use appropriate resources to address practice questions.
