Job Title: Operating Room Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (18:30 - 07:00) Experience: Minimum 2 years in a pediatric setting and 2 years of traveler contract experience License: SC or Compact Nursing License Certifications: BLS Must-Have: - Experience in pediatric and/or women’s surgery - Ability to respond to emergencies (code response) Description: Position is for an Operating Room Registered Nurse. The shift is 3x12s from 18:30 to 07:00. Weekends are required, likely only Friday nights. On-call is not required. Floating within scope to meet facility needs may occur if needed, but is unlikely. The position is essential and vacant. Open to accommodating block scheduling per manager's discretion. Nights are only for urgent/emergent additions. A radiation badge needs to be provided. The unit has 8 ORs, but only 2 are operational overnight. All requested time off must be included at the time of submission. Approval will be based on facility needs. Travelers may be called off 10 hours per 2-week period. During hurricane season, all staff may be assigned to emergency response teams. Travelers should not confirm new or extended assignments during this season. Hurricane season runs from June through November, with peak activity in August and September. Previous permanent staff must be separated from the system for 1 year before returning as a traveler. Travelers with a pending South Carolina license must provide proof of application or complete the walk-through process. All labs must be completed within 72 hours of signing if starting within 90 days. If a candidate has vacation planned during the compliance process, labs must be completed prior to departure.
