Job Title: Operating Room Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 3x12 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years strongly preferred License: State or Multi-State/Compact RN license required Certifications: BLS, Clienttion Badge (provided by agency) Must-Have: Scrub experience preferred Description: Position/Specialty: Operating Room Registered Nurse The nurse will work three 12-hour shifts during the day. On-call requirements are up to four call shifts every four weeks. Weekend requirements include working up to one weekend shift every four weeks. The traveler will be required to work at least one of the holiday periods including Christmas and New Year's. Travelers may need to float to meet facility needs in like units or sister facilities. Two years of experience is strongly preferred, but first-timers are accepted. A South Carolina or Multi-State/Compact RN license is required. BLS certification is necessary, and the agency will provide the radiation badge. Experience in a Level 1 trauma facility is strongly preferred. The Main Operating Room consists of 21 OR suites that cover various surgical specialties. The nursing team consists of a mix of Registered Nurses and Certified Surgical Technologists. Registered Nurses are trained to both scrub and circulate during surgical procedures. This is a busy and dynamic, nurse-driven department that provides advanced technology to the community. Travelers should be aware of emergency response assignments during the hurricane season, which runs from June through November. All lab requirements must be completed within specific timeframes prior to the start date. Modules may be required as part of the compliance process.
