GHG Healthcare is seeking a travel nurse RN Oncology Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Omaha, Nebraska.

Opportunity:
RN - PCU Oncology
Job Details:
• 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Self-scheduling available but balanced to the needs of the unit
• Primary patient population includes adult oncology PCU and trauma PCU patients
• Unit consists of 18 beds
• Patient ratios are 1:4 to 1:5 on both days and nights
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Oncology experience preferred but strong PCU experience without oncology experience is acceptable
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA)
• ONS/ONCC certification preferred but not required
• Chemotherapy certification preferred but not required
• Charting system: Epic
• IV Pumps: Alaris
• Must be comfortable titrating insulin and Cardizem drips
• Common drips and medications include chemotherapy, heparin, Cardizem, and Protonix
• Experience with high-flow respiratory equipment required
• Lyko lifts available in even-numbered rooms with additional lift equipment available
• Travelers may float to other Med/Surg and PCU units at the same level of care
• Two days of unit orientation provided
• Pass/fail open book exam administered during orientation with a minimum passing score of 90% required
• Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments
• Valid driver's license required at time of submittal
• Candidate must reside more than 50 miles from the facility and may not be employed full-time, part-time, or PRN with any associated facilities

This acute care facility is a Level 1 trauma center offering comprehensive medical services across a range of specialties. The PCU Oncology unit is dedicated to providing high-quality care to oncology and trauma patients, supported by a multidisciplinary team including nursing assistants, charge nurses, physical and occupational therapists, case managers, social workers, educators, and dietitians. The facility emphasizes a team culture focused on compassionate patient care, hourly rounding, and bedside shift reporting to enhance the patient experience.
