GHG Healthcare is seeking a travel nurse RN Oncology Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Omaha, Nebraska.

Opportunity:
RN - PCU Oncology
Job Details:
• 12-hour shifts available on days (6:30 AM - 7:00 PM) and nights (6:30 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Every other weekend required
• Self-scheduling available but balanced to the needs of the unit
• Work on a PCU Oncology unit (5 North) with 18 beds serving adult oncology PCU and trauma PCU patients
• Patient ratios of 1:4-1:5 on both days and nights
• Minimum 1 year of experience required; first-time travelers accepted
• Oncology experience preferred; strong PCU experience without oncology experience may be considered
• Charge nurse experience not required
• Two days of unit orientation provided
• Travelers may float to other Med/Surg and PCU units at the same level of care
• Titrate insulin and Cardizem drips; common drips and medications include chemotherapy, heparin, Cardizem, and Protonix
• Respiratory equipment commonly encountered includes high-flow oxygen
• Charting system: Epic; IV pumps: Alaris
• Lyko lifts available in even-numbered rooms with additional lift equipment available
• Hourly rounding and bedside shift report are key patient experience focuses
• Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments
• Driver's license required at submittal
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA)
• ONS/ONCC certification preferred but not required
• Chemo certification preferred but not required
• Must score 90% or higher on an open book skills exam administered during orientation
• Candidate must reside more than 50 miles from the facility and may not hold full-time, part-time, or PRN status with any associated network facilities

The PCU Oncology unit is supported by a multidisciplinary team including nursing assistants, a charge nurse, PT/OT, an RN case manager, a social worker, an educator, and a dietitian.
