Job Title

Registered Nurse (RN) – Oncology

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 12-Hour Shifts | Onsite

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care on a 19-bed private Oncology Acute unit serving patients with diagnoses including Lymphoma, Leukemia, Hematology, Radiation Oncology, and Gynecologic Oncology
  • Administer IV chemotherapy and immunotherapy regimens, including proper use of PPE and handling precautions
  • Monitor patients for side effects and adverse reactions related to chemotherapy and immunotherapy medications
  • Manage set-rate drips including heparin and 24-hour chemotherapy infusions such as Methotrexate
  • Document patient care accurately using Epic Beacon EMR
  • Participate in a float rotation to General Med level-of-care units as needed
Required Qualifications
  • Active Illinois RN license (or confirmation that the application process has been initiated)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate
  • Hands-on experience administering IV chemotherapy and immunotherapy medications
  • Ability to work night shifts including every other weekend (Friday/Saturday) and every other holiday
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen; position is located on a drug-free campus
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Prior experience with Epic Beacon EMR documentation
  • Familiarity with telemetry monitoring (Philips platform); strip interpretation not required
  • Experience caring for Radiation Oncology and Gynecologic Oncology patient populations
