Registered Nurse (RN) – Oncology

Key Responsibilities- Provide direct nursing care to oncology patients including those with Lymphoma, Leukemia, Hematology conditions, Radiation Oncology, and Gynecologic Oncology diagnoses
- Administer IV chemotherapy and immunotherapy regimens following proper handling precautions including use of PPE, and monitor patients for medication side effects
- Manage set-rate drips including heparin and 24-hour chemotherapy infusions such as Methotrexate
- Collaborate with charge nurses, house supervisors, and patient care technicians to maintain safe nurse-to-patient ratios based on unit census
- Document patient care accurately using Epic Beacon EMR
- Participate in float rotation to general medical units as needed for periods of four hours or more
Required Qualifications- Active Illinois RN license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate
- Demonstrated experience with IV chemotherapy and immunotherapy administration including safe handling precautions
- Ability to pass a drug screen; must comply with a drug-free workplace policy
Preferred Experience / Skills- Prior experience working in an acute oncology inpatient setting
- Familiarity with Epic Beacon EMR for oncology documentation
- Experience caring for patients receiving radiation oncology or gynecologic oncology treatments
