Job Title: Clienttion Oncology Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Oncology Nurse Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Weekdays, 4-10 hour shifts Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years of RN Clienttion Oncology experience License: RN with current Colorado license in good standing Certifications: BLS and ACLS through the American Heart Association Must-Have: RN Clienttion Oncology work experience (not Medical Oncology) Description: The Clienttion Oncology Nurse is a registered nurse who functions in a collaborative role with the Clienttion Oncology Team. This position provides continuity and quality patient care. The nurse will assess and provide appropriate nursing interventions for actual or potential problems that patients may experience related to their disease process, treatment course, and follow-up periods. This role emphasizes teaching, counseling, and supportive functions to assist patients and/or families in coping with and adjusting to the diagnosis and treatment of cancer. The RN assists in the evaluation and examination of patients alongside the Clienttion Oncologist. This individual acts as a liaison between Clienttion Oncology and other departments, as well as physicians' groups/offices and counseling/support groups. In this setting, the Clienttion Oncology Nurse will assess and provide appropriate referrals for alternative resources for recovery, rehabilitation, nursing home care, hospice, and nutritional services. The ideal candidate should possess the ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced clinic environment. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential for interacting with members of the multidisciplinary team. The candidate must coordinate oncology patient care effectively with other interdisciplinary staff. Flexibility and organizational skills are important for success in this role. Knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to patients of varying age groups and cultural backgrounds are required. An understanding of chronic illness and comorbidity management is essential. The candidate should have current knowledge of the latest trends, skills, procedures, and protocols in hematology/oncology and internal medicine practice. Familiarity with evidence-based oncology, immunology, pharmacology, community health, and cultural sensitivity information is important.
