Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing cancer treatment, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, radiation therapy, and supportive care
  • Perform detailed patient assessments and continuously monitor patient responses to treatment
  • Administer chemotherapy, biotherapy, blood products, IV medications, hydration therapy, and other prescribed treatments in accordance with oncology standards
  • Monitor for treatment-related side effects, complications, and adverse reactions while providing timely interventions
  • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, symptom management, nutrition, and home care
  • Collaborate with oncologists, pharmacists, radiation therapists, social workers, dietitians, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate individualized patient care
  • Assist with pain management, symptom control, and palliative care interventions
  • Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Ensure compliance with chemotherapy safety protocols, infection prevention guidelines, and quality care standards
  • Deliver compassionate emotional support to patients and families throughout treatment and recovery
Requirements
  • Active New York Registered Nurse (RN) License
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Oncology nursing experience
  • Current BLS Certification required
  • Current ACLS Certification preferred
  • ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Provider Certification preferred
  • Experience administering chemotherapy and caring for oncology patients
  • Strong assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills
  • Experience using electronic medical record (EMR) systems preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple patients while providing compassionate, patient-centered care
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional oncology nursing services
