Description:
Position/Specialty: Oncology Infusion RN.
Shift Time: 5x8s - 08:00 - 16:30, Monday to Friday.
Ratios: 1 nurse to 7 patients.
Years of experience required: 2 years.
First-timers are not accepted.
No weekend requirements.
No on-call requirements.
Clinician may float within scope to meet facility needs.
Open to accommodating block schedules.
Candidates must have experience with all oncology diagnoses and GI/GU diagnoses needing infusion.
Responsibilities include administering chemotherapy and managing side effects.
Experience with inpatient oncology and outpatient care is preferred.
Day-to-day tasks involve medication administration, patient education, and coordination of care.
Charting system used is Epic.
Ideal candidates will have a strong skill set in managing ports and administering various treatments.
Applicants should be familiar with protocols for nausea and vomiting, as well as research protocols.
In this role, nurses will support patients undergoing multiple treatment regimens.
Candidates should have knowledge of handling cytotoxic spills and administering blood products.
Team collaboration is essential, including interdisciplinary support.
This position requires a commitment to high-quality patient care and safety protocols.
