Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Oncology Duration: 8 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 hours (08:00 - 17:00) Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience required License: Registered Nurse Certifications: BLS, ONCC or ONS certification required Must-Have: - Prior oncology/infusion outpatient experience required - Familiarity with Alaris Infusion Pumps and CADD Ambulatory Pumps - Oncology certification (ONCC or ONS) - EPIC experience preferred Description: This position is for an Oncology Clinic RN performing 6 infusions and 1-2 port draws daily. The RN should have experience with the administration and monitoring of chemotherapy. Continuous infusion of chemotherapy and oral administration of chemotherapy are required skills. Experience in the administration of blood and blood products is needed. The role requires care and management of ports and central line/implanted line care. The RN should be able to manage acute tumor lysis syndrome, anaphylaxis, and extravasation injury. Knowledge of complications such as hemorrhage, sepsis, spinal cord compression, and neutropenic precautions is necessary. The RN should be comfortable handling altered mental status, constipation/diarrhea, dysphagia, edema, nausea/vomiting, and neuropathy. Travelers will be considered valued members of the team. All travelers are expected to float between facilities within a given state. Refusal to float may result in termination of the assignment. Providers are expected to have communication devices as needed for the duties assigned. Completion of required modules prior to the start date is mandatory.
