Job Title: Oncology RN Profession: RN Specialty: Oncology Duration: 16 Weeks Shift: 8-Hour Day Shift Hours per Shift: 40 Experience: Minimum of 1 year Oncology RN experience required; 2+ years preferred. License: RN License required. Certifications: BLS required; OCN certification preferred. Must-Have: Ability to triage and prioritize Oncology emergencies and crises via phone. Experience with active chemotherapy, biologic, and immunotherapy administration. General assessment and triage skills. Experience with EPIC for messaging and charting. Description: The role involves running a Medical Oncology clinic independently. The RN will assist in maintaining and engaging in the patient treatment plan process. High-level patient and phone triage will be required while acting as a clinical liaison. Phlebotomy skills, including port-a-cath access, are necessary. Experience in running a Hematology clinic is highly preferred. Experience in running a Breast Clinic is also beneficial. The RN will support general oncology patients, focusing on solid tumors and anemias. The average daily census will include approximately 12-16 patients seen daily. The clinic has specialized physicians who treat benign and malignant cancers. Skills such as peripheral blood draws and triage are essential for success in this position.
