Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Oncology Clinic Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum of 1 year in oncology License: Valid state license required Certifications: BLS required, Chemotherapy certification preferred Must-Have: Oncology experience required Chemotherapy experience preferred Description: Utilize IV pumps and hoyer lifts for non-ambulatory patients. Chemotherapy infusion chairs that recline are available. Computer carts on wheels are provided for patient chair-side access. The infusion area consists of 16 chairs and 6 bedrooms. Onsite pharmacy for chemotherapy and immunotherapy mixing is available. A team of medical oncologists supports the infusion area with a separate RN and MA. Five nurses, along with a charge nurse, staff the clinic. Emergency services for patient care are accessible. Support services include a social worker, dietician, nurse navigator, survivor nurse, specialty pharmacy liaison, and pastoral care. Daily patient census averages around 35. The department supports interdisciplinary services including respiratory therapy, social services, and pharmacy. Patient diagnoses focus on adult outpatient oncology and hematology. The clinic employs special equipment such as IV pumps and chemotherapy infusion chairs.
