Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Oncology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours (07:15 - 18:45) Experience: Minimum 1 year required License: Active state license required Certifications: BLS, Chemotherapy certification required Must-Have: Chemotherapy administration experience IV therapy and infusion experience Description: Position available in an oncology unit. Average daily census is 24 patients. The unit has 24 rooms/beds. Candidates must have a minimum of one year of experience. First-time travelers are accepted. Candidates will work every other weekend. No on-call requirement. Clinicians may float within the scope to meet facility needs. Schedule requests can be discussed with the manager. Local candidates are accepted without radius restrictions. RTO restrictions ideally limit non-holiday time off to no more than five days. Candidates must have active state license in hand or be in the application process to apply. The facility may cancel up to 36 hours in the assignment without penalty for the canceled hours. Special requirements include chemotherapy skills such as administration of chemotherapy and monitoring lab values. IV therapy skills are also required, including accessing ports and managing central lines. Additional information regarding patient care: The facility is an acute care hospital with a magnet designation and is a level I trauma center. The comprehensive support team includes various health professionals. The patient population consists of adults and geriatric patients with mixed diagnoses, focused mainly on oncology and hospice care. Candidates must be willing to float as needed. Previous charge experience is preferred. Candidates should have experience with the Cerner charting system. The unit emphasizes quality patient care and teamwork among disciplines. Candidates must be committed to compliance and onboarding requirements.
