Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Oncology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 4x9.5-Hour Hours per Shift: 9.5 Experience: One year of clinical experience in intravenous nursing or equivalent background in an oncology, medical-surgical, critical care, or home infusion setting. Preferred: Two years of oncology-focused intravenous nursing, including the administration of chemotherapy, biotherapy, immunotherapy, and blood products. License: BLS/CPR required. Completion of oncology-specific CEUs required to support accreditations. Chemotherapy/Biotherapy certification required within six months of hire. Certifications: Oncology Nurse Society certified (OCN) preferred. Must-Have: Proficient in the care, maintenance, and accessing of central lines. Description: The role involves caring for patients undergoing oncology treatments. The nurse will be responsible for administering chemotherapy and other infusion therapies. Knowledge of acute tumor lysis syndrome and managing side effects is essential. Experience with accessing and managing ports and central lines is critical. Candidates should be familiar with monitoring chemotherapy. The position requires strong communication and care coordination skills. A background in handling cytotoxic medications and blood products is necessary. The team supports patients of various age groups, including adults and geriatrics.
