Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Oncology Floor Nurse position in Bridgeport, West Virginia. This role involves providing care to general medical-surgical patients with some post-operative and oncology cases. The unit manages a variety of patient needs, including chemotherapy administration, chest tube management, and infection control, with a focus on high-quality, compassionate patient care.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 36 hours per week, beginning on 08/10/2026
  • Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, BLS (American Heart Association) certification, minimum of 2 years of recent acute care experience in a medical-surgical or oncology setting
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with chemotherapy biotherapy, chest tube management, and oncology patient care; BLS certification; experience with electronic medical records
  • Float: Float rotation may be required to other MedSurg/Tele units as needed
  • Additional Information: The unit works with a team of charge nurses, nurse aides, and respiratory therapists, with dedicated BIPAP, CPAP, and high-flow oxygen equipment managed by RTs. Night shift nurses are responsible for patient care including titration of Heparin drips. Telemetry is available with Phillips monitors, and nurses must be able to read and interpret strips. The unit maintains a 1:5-6 nurse to patient ratio, with a typical mix of general and oncology patients, some on complex therapies like chest tubes or with special precautions. Orientation includes multiple shifts with a preceptor.
