Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Hematology/Oncology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 hours (Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM) Experience: Minimum 1 year preferred; will consider acute Oncology/Hematology experience. License: NC or Compact license required at the time of start. Certifications: BLS required; preferred certifications include ONS, BMTCN, OCN. Must-Have: - Must provide and bring their own stethoscope. - Traveler experience accepted for 1st time travelers. - Candidates should be comfortable with patient triage, education, and case management. - Skills such as phlebotomy, central line care, and assisting with bone marrow biopsies are essential. Description: The position involves working with an adult patient population in hematology, focusing on both malignant and benign conditions. Nurses will be responsible for patient assessments and care coordination. Manual differentials and other lab processes will be performed by lab personnel, not registered nurses. Chemotherapy and infusions are not administered in this setting. There are no call or weekend requirements for this position. Nurses will work primarily in a clinic setting, interacting with interdisciplinary teams including social services and pharmacy. The average daily census is approximately 70 clinic visits. Candidates must be open to floating to other units within the facility based on needs. No additional time off will be permitted during the first week of the assignment due to orientation. Candidates must comply with required vaccinations where applicable. All testing must be completed promptly upon signing the contract.
