Job Details
  • Position: Registered Nurse - Oncology
  • Location: Asheville
  • Contract Length: 13 Weeks
  • Shift: Night Shift
  • Schedule: 3x12
  • Experience Required: 2 Years
  • Weekly Pay: $1900 to $2080
Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to oncology patients receiving chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other cancer treatments
  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and monitor for changes in condition
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and oncology treatments as prescribed
  • Monitor and manage treatment-related side effects and complications
  • Collaborate with oncologists, pharmacists, case managers, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate patient care
  • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, symptom management, and discharge instructions
  • Provide emotional support and compassionate care to patients and their families throughout the treatment process
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation
  • Ensure compliance with patient safety, infection prevention, and quality care standards
  • Advocate for patients and promote holistic, patient-centered care
Requirements
  • Active RN License in North Carolina
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Oncology nursing experience
  • Current BLS Certification required
  • ACLS Certification preferred
  • ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification preferred
  • Experience administering chemotherapy and managing oncology-related complications preferred
  • Strong assessment, critical thinking, and clinical decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and patient education abilities
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced oncology environment
  • Commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care
