The Role
Our client, a dedicated breast health and imaging centre in The Woodlands, Texas, is seeking a Senior Mammography Technologist to join their full-time days team. This is a specialist senior role within a focused breast care environment, requiring advanced mammography expertise, a patient-centred approach, and the ability to contribute to quality assurance and operational excellence. The successful candidate will bring a minimum of four years of mammography experience and all required ARRT certifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform screening and diagnostic mammography examinations in accordance with physician orders and established clinical protocols
- Utilise advanced positioning techniques, compression optimisation, and clinical judgement to produce high-quality diagnostic images
- Operate and maintain mammography equipment in compliance with ACR, FDA/MQSA, and facility quality standards
- Perform daily, weekly, and periodic quality control checks on mammography equipment and document results accurately
- Assist in preparing for Joint Commission audits and regulatory quality reviews
- Assist with scheduling coordination and workflow optimisation within the breast centre
- Educate and support patients throughout the examination process with compassion and professionalism
- Collaborate with radiologists, sonographers, and the multidisciplinary breast care team to support seamless patient care
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of all examinations and QC activities
Requirements
Must-Have
- Minimum 4 years of prior mammography technologist experience
- Graduate of an accredited Mammography Technology programme
- Current Texas Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) licence or temporary licence required
- ARRT registration in Radiography (ARRT-R) current and in good standing
- ARRT registration in Mammography (ARRT-M) current and in good standing
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
- Experience with scheduling coordination in an imaging or breast centre environment
- Experience with quality reviews, QC documentation, and preparation for Joint Commission or MQSA audits
- Familiarity with tomosynthesis (3D mammography) and/or breast ultrasound-assisted workflows
