The Role
We are seeking a senior People Services (HR) Director to lead the human resources function for our client's facility in Elko, Nevada. This is a full-time permanent senior leadership role with broad accountability for employee relations, talent acquisition, compensation, workforce planning, HR compliance, and organisational development. The successful candidate will serve as a strategic partner to senior leadership and will be instrumental in building a culture of engagement, accountability, and high performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic HR leadership aligned with organisational goals and workforce needs
- Lead and manage all facets of the People Services function including employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, compensation, benefits, and HR compliance
- Serve as a trusted advisor to department leaders on all people-related matters including performance management, disciplinary processes, and workforce planning
- Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and programmes consistent with applicable employment laws and regulatory requirements
- Lead employee relations investigations and resolve workplace concerns in a fair, consistent, and legally compliant manner
- Oversee talent acquisition strategy to attract and retain qualified talent across the organisation
- Support and facilitate leadership development and succession planning initiatives
- Travel within the service area as required (up to 20%)
Requirements
Must-Have
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- Minimum 7 years of progressive HR leadership experience
- Demonstrated experience in employee relations and conflict resolution
- Strong knowledge of employment law, HR compliance, and best practices
- Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
- HR certifications (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR) highly regarded
- Previous healthcare HR experience strongly preferred
- Union and/or labour relations experience
