Job Title: CVOR Nurse Manager Profession: Manager Specialty: Nurse Duration: Full-Time Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 40 Experience: CVOR experience, Nurse Manager experience, Leadership experience License: Current RN license required Certifications: Leadership certification required within 1 year of eligibility, BLS required prior to clinical duties Must-Have: Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing, Master's degree from a healthcare-related program or MBA acceptable, Enrollment in MSN program within 5 years of hire if undergraduate degree is BSN Description: The Nurse Manager assesses, plans, coordinates, and evaluates the clinical and operational functions of a nursing unit. This ensures quality, cost-effective healthcare delivered by an educated and competent team. The role promotes a safe environment and ensures all related job responsibilities are performed in compliance with professional and clinical standards appropriate to patient age, developmental stages, and special needs. Demonstrates and supports a Professional Practice model that fosters collaboration with interdisciplinary partners to achieve high-quality patient outcomes. Ensures staff operations comply with Nursing Practice Act, regulatory standards, and organizational policies. Leads the team to accomplish goals aligned with organizational objectives, including quality management, patient care, and departmental standards. Assumes responsibility for recruitment, orientation, education, and ongoing development of personnel through structured programs. Promotes shared governance and professional growth to positively impact clinical outcomes. Performs nursing interventions and patient care as necessary. Provides effective communication with patients and families. Oversees financial performance of the unit, ensuring cost-effective operations. Assists in policy development and adherence to professional standards. Maintains accountability for budgetary oversight and staff performance. Ability to walk, stand, sit, lift, reach, stoop, bend, push, and pull. Must lift and support up to 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies. Requires English language proficiency, including speaking, reading, and writing. Must possess critical thinking skills and adaptability to respond to changes in patient or departmental conditions. Previous management experience preferred. Additional education, training, or experience may be required by the department.
