Job Title: Unit Nurse Manager - Cath Lab and ICU Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Cath Lab/ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: 3 years of RN experience, 1 year of management experience, 1 year of clinical leadership experience License: Active RN license Certifications: ACLS BLS NIHSS Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) TNCC Must-Have: ACLS Critical care/telemetry experience Fluoro license for technical staff Description: The Unit Nurse Manager will oversee both the Cath Lab and ICU departments. Management experience is essential for this role. Clinicians will assist with pre/post procedure support. Bedside procedure support and moderate sedation are required. The role emphasizes enhancement of nursing competency and cultivating a positive department culture. Typical cases in the Cath Lab include cardiac, vascular, electrophysiology, interventional radiology, and non-invasive cardiology. Typical patients in the ICU include cardiac and respiratory cases such as sepsis, DKA, non-ST elevation myocardial infarction (non-STEMI), ST elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI), COPD exacerbations, and chronic kidney disease. Common titratable and set rate drips include vasoactive drugs, heparin, epinephrine, nitroglycerin, and various sedation medications. Nursing staff are expected to monitor their own patients. All nursing staff will read strips and monitor intraprocedural data. Self-scheduling is permitted. Weekend and holiday on-call requirements apply. Staff may be required to float to other departments. The dress code is hospital laundered scrubs. The charting system utilized is EPIC.
