ID: 63044457 Shift: Evenings EVENING Shift - 3:00p - 11:00pExempt Position with no OTMUST have ED experience for thi Description: Job Summary:-Nurse Manager Emergency Department assumes 24-hour responsibility for overall assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care.-Nurse Manager Emergency Department responsibilities include oversight and direction for the emergency department, and accountability for planning, directing, leading and evaluating nursing care within the department.-Foster an environment of collaboration and respect with all other healthcare team members.-Weekend and holiday coverage as needed is also a responsibility of the role as Nurse Manager.-Performs related duties as required.PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND Performance-Develops long-term unit staffing schedules and ensures adequate daily coverage in accordance with established staffing needs.-Develops measures and monitors unit operational performance metrics inclusive, agency and overtime costs, vacancy and turnover rates.-Oversees the daily workflow, staffing, orientation, training and development of employees within the department.-Responsible for the ongoing quality/performance improvement processes related to the emergency department. -Promote and support a collaborative team approach in providing care for all ED and trauma patients.-Approach others in a tactful manner and treat others with respect and consideration.-Support and interpret policies, procedures, and objectives of the hospital.-Monitors customer satisfaction scores and implements plans to improve scores.-Monitors patient volume, quality of care, and performance of staff to identify areas for improvement.-Maintains a departmental dashboard that includes information and progress on people, service, quality, and leadership-Responsible for investigating patient, physician and staff complaints/concerns and works to resolve the aforementioned.-Maintains required competencies for self and all employees within the department.-Participates in a professional organization. Clinical Practice/Patient Care -Collaborates with the CNO/SVP of nursing to establish nursing care standards and evaluates staff compliance. -Identifies protocols affecting the patient population served and keeps nursing staff informed.-Demonstrates self-development and keeps currents on a variety of clinical management and health care topics.-Maintains a safe and caring environment for patients, family and staff that is conducive to positive health teaching and maintenance; and develops mechanism to assess same. -Ensures equal access to treatment for all persons in need regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, disability, age, or sexual orientation.
