Job Title: Nurse Manager, Emergency Room Profession: Nursing Specialty: RN Unit Manager, Emergency Room Nurse Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 40-Hours, Monday-Friday onsite Hours per Shift: 40 Experience: 3-5 years of progressive clinical and administrative experience License: Current RN licensure Certifications: Current certification in ACLS, Current certification in PALS Must-Have: TNCC, ENPC, and CEN preferred Description: The Nurse Manager is responsible for the operations of the Emergency Department. The Nurse Manager will collaborate with the staff to provide consistent, quality nursing care, benchmarked by indicators and performance standards. The Nurse Manager will have fiscal responsibility for the unit as directed by the Director of Nursing. The candidate will also be responsible for staff level education on the unit. Provides coaching and education for staff to meet/exceed performance expectations. Designs and implements individual and group plans that develop and motivate employees. Ensures that employee skills match job requirements. Completes all employee performance evaluations by due dates. Oversees daily operations to meet the vision of providing services to the community. Implements strategies to improve patient and customer satisfaction. Responds to customer requests and concerns in a timely and effective manner. Utilizes customer satisfaction data to develop and anticipate customer service systems. Meets or exceeds customer expectations, ensuring selection as a primary source of healthcare. Ensures staffing patterns and workflow design match customer requirements. Manages resources to ensure adequate resources and future growth. Justifies budget variances and implements strategies to reduce costs or increase revenues. Collaborates and coordinates projects and activities with other departments to build a team approach to healthcare delivery.
