Job Summary:
The organization is seeking a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) registered nurse in Lee's Summit, Missouri. This position involves providing specialized care to neonates in a dedicated NICU area. The nurse will be responsible for attending high-risk deliveries, managing neonatal patient needs, and working within a dynamic, multispecialty environment to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license; two (2) years of neonatal intensive care experience; current BLS (Basic Life Support), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certifications; proficiency in attending high-risk deliveries, NICU patient care, and neonatal procedures; Epic charting system experience preferred; no specific location requirements; at least 1 year of relevant experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with delivering care to neonates in level 1 neonatology units, including neonatal sepsis management, ventilation, and medication administration.
- On-Call Requirement: Yes, two (2) 12-hour on-call shifts within a six-week schedule.
- Float: Well baby nursery; attend deliveries on labor & delivery units. Regular floating between departments, units, and facilities as needed.
- Additional Information: The position requires a minimum of two years of NICU experience, with responsibilities including ventilator management, neonatal sepsis treatment, and high-acuity neonatal procedures. Candidates must be willing to float within scope to meet facility needs and adhere to uniform policies.
