Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Stepdown Neuro Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a large urban hospital License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, NIHSS Must-Have: - Epic charting experience - Ability to float within scope to meet facility needs Description: 36 or 48-hour option and 13 or 26-week contract option. Traveling nurses must be prepared to float frequently to meet the staffing needs of the facility. There are RTO blackout dates related to certain events. The specialty area is mixed acuity (Medical Surgical/Telemetry & Stepdown). The unit cares for a range of medical surgical patients specializing in Neuroscience. The patient population includes strokes, aneurysms, seizures, spinal fusions, brain and spinal cord tumors, and other neurological conditions. Nurse-to-patient ratios for Medical Surgical/Telemetry are typically 1:5 during the day and 1:6 at night. Depending on staffing, night ratios can go up to 1:7, although this is rare. Stepdown ratios are 1:3-4 days and nights. Drip management experience is required. Traveling nurses will float to meet facility needs, which may include multiple units. Care teams consist of various support staff including techs and transport teams. The facility is nicotine-free. Weekend shifts require working 4 out of 8 possible shifts over a 4-week period. RTO restrictions allow for up to two weeks, submitted with application. Travelers must work a minimum of 2 out of 3 major holidays. Local candidates are not accepted; travelers must reside more than 100 miles away. Pending licenses will be accepted, but must be specified. Nurses are required to wear designated scrubs with the facility logo. Documentation deadlines must be adhered to prior to start. Travelers must complete necessary lab work within specified timeframe after accepting the offer. Contracts must conclude on a Sunday.
