Registered Nurse – Neuro ICU

Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Days | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct critical care nursing to patients with complex neurological diagnoses in a 32-bed Neuro ICU setting at a Level 1 Trauma facility
Perform and interpret neuro assessments, ICP monitoring, and EVD management for patients undergoing craniotomies, brain tumor removal, ablations, brain biopsies, and complex spine surgeries
Operate and monitor ventilators and Phillips telemetry monitoring systems within a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio in the ICU
Float as needed to other ICU floors and telemetry/med-surg tele units, assuming a 1:4 patient ratio on tele floors
Complete SIMs Lab competency assessments including Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes, maintaining strict sterile field technique
Participate in holiday scheduling integrated into core staff rotation and may be placed on standby for scheduled shifts
Required Qualifications
Active RN license in good standing
Minimum 2 years of ICU experience in a large hospital (450+ beds); candidates with a minimum of 18 months of Neuro ICU experience will be considered
Strong neuro assessment skills and ICP monitoring experience required
Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
Preferred Experience / Skills
3–6 months of prior travel nursing experience
Proficiency with Cerner EMR
Experience with ventilator management in a critical care environment
