Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical - Neuro Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: Must have an active Illinois license to apply Certifications: BLS, NIHSS required Must-Have: - Required work setting experience in Med/Surg - Cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills - Gastrointestinal case skills including colostomy care and feeding tube care - IV therapy and phlebotomy skills including accessing ports and blood product administration - Neurological and psychiatric case skills such as CVA and pre/post neuro surgery - Respiratory case skills including chest tube management and oxygen therapy - Professional knowledge in isolation precautions and wound care Description: Position for a Medical Surgical Neuro RN. Average daily census of 32 patients. The candidate will work every other weekend. Candidates must have experience with telemetry and remote monitoring. Experience with surgical drains is required. Knowledge of continuous bladder irrigation is necessary. Preferred experience in teaching hospitals and trauma Level II facilities. Expected to float within the facility as needed. Must demonstrate strong clinical skills in managing various medical conditions. Candidates should be adept in using electronic charting systems. Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams is essential. Experience with the care and management of patients post-surgery is crucial. Flexibility to accommodate scheduling requests is encouraged.
